Featuring recording from such notables as Jimmy Edgar and Det.Und braintrust Kero Volume 6 also introduces audiences to the sounds of Sweden’s Kritical Audio and reintroduces them to fellow 313er 000 Det.Und 001. rounding off the presentation with 12 DJ friendly lock grooves by long time Det.Und. contributor Richard Devine.

While still breaking new ground in electronic music, this particular installment of the series seems to locate itself as much in the politics of
revival re-interpretation and the consequences thereof and through this advances the discourse about electronic music and its current fascinations with its own recent past.

About the Artists

Kritical Audio- Det.Und is proud to present the first release from the promising duo of Swedens Robert Elster and Martin Skogehall.  Though veteran composers and longtime collaborators Kritical Audio marks the pairs first forays into so called Intelligent Dance Music.  The result is a tightly sequenced combination of intricate programming gut wrenching bass and classic synth lines that both push the edges of the dance floor while not betraying some of the genres more avant-garde tendencies. Richard Devine-  Barely in need of an introduction to those familiar with cutting edge experimental electronics Richard Devine has long been established as an innovator in the genre. With full length releases on such labels as Warp Schematic and most recently Venetian Snares Sublight record label. Devine is now shaping the future of electronic music production designing preset audio for Absynth as well as keyboard giants Korg and Nord  .
He has worked extensively in commercial sound design for television and video games garnering high profile clients such as Chrysler Scion Microsoft Xbox and Nike.

000 – Detroits Nicholas Raftis continues to build on the highly cerebral sounds first explored in 2004s critically acclaimed Upon Cycles released on Mike Pardinas Planet Mu.
In addition to his solo work Raftis has also collaborated extensively with Det.Und label mate and fellow Detroiter Jimmy Edgar.

Kero-With over 13 releases on some of electronic musicºs most celebrated and innovative labels such as Bpitch, Ghostly International and Shitkatapult as well as his own critically acclaimed Detroit Underground Records, Kero has established a reputation for his unrepentantly brash yet cultivated compositions and unforgettable live performances most recently alongside notables such as Speedy J Apparat & Otto Von Schirach.

Jimmy Edgar-  Fresh from the success of his sophomore release for Warp Bounce Make Model Detroit native Jimmy Edgar turns a critical eye toward the ubiquitous IDM phenomenon of the cut-up. The style of composition more correctly a rearrangement where breakcore style editing is applied to a Top 40 song, was pioneered by artists such as  Bit Meddler and Kid 606. Edgar’s take on the style attempts to expose the cut-up not as the pinnacle of citical post-rave irony but rather as a stale resistance based metaphor that has been done to death by countless imitators.
The point would be ever so clear were it not for the fact that IHWPMTLT is a fantastic example of how exactly the cut-up should be done and as much a homage to the innovators as it is to their immitators.
