Marco Simioni

Born in 1989, Marco was deeply influenced by the UK electronic music scene of the 1990s, with the soundtrack of WipeOut 2097 largely to blame.

He began listening to and exploring a wide range of genres and sonic textures at an early age, creating music just for fun. Over time, he started experimenting more seriously with different sounds and production techniques, gradually refining his style in search of a unique musical identity.

In 2016, Marco moved to London and enrolled in the Music Technology programme at the London College of Music — an environment that resonated strongly with his musical background. These formative years laid the foundations for his artistic development, culminating in the release of his debut EP Phaneron on the widely acclaimed Detroit Underground in 2021. The five-track EP serves as an introduction to Marco’s musical vision and features visual support from Mexican digital art prodigy Esstro9.

That same year, Marco also released an ambient album titled Zeitgeist: Ambient Music from 2012 to 2020 on the renowned Frankfurt-based label Mille Plateaux. The album, which spans nearly a decade of work, caught the attention of none other than Yann Tiersen and British graphic artist John Coulthart. It includes collaborations with long-time friend Mattia Saviolo — a respected figure in Berlin’s techno scene — as well as three tracks created with university friend Riccardo Marcucci. Marco and Riccardo have performed together at London’s iconic Corsica Studios and Berlin’s now-closed Arena Club.

Marco later teamed up with Matteo Mazreku (aka Aseq) to form an acid collective called Qualia — also the title of their debut EP released on Utrecht’s legendary underground label U-TRAX. The EP includes contributions from Francesco Pio Nitti (aka Caramel Chameleon), a prominent name in the IDM and acid scenes, who contributed 303 lines and has since become part of the collective.

He also contributed a track to Various V, a compilation by Dutch label 030303, under the alias Raving Kid. His track Edgware Acid channels the raw energy of ’90s UK rave culture, combining deep acid lines with nostalgic atmospheres. In 2025, he also released “Essence Through Approximation” on Evel Records — an 11-track work described by Igloo Magazine as ‘a study in sonic erosion’.

He’s now working on more music that will be shared soon. Stay tuned!
