One foot in the virtual world, Lou explores frontier tech with ease. Unlike ageworn steel-driving-man anxieties about mechanical colonization, the speculative folklore of bayes collides the woman and machine myth to release an abundance of fusion energy. Here, the future fits like a glove. Anxieties are reserved, instead, for struggles with more ancient adversaries, embedded in the limbic, the DNA.

From “home” to “nothing,” the multidirectional transmissions unspool like anchorless lines wavering across a boundless sphere. The song cycle – as linear as it is circular – descends into the core of human emotion as it drifts into uncharted nonbeing.

Byrke: “Bayes tells stories of a girl in the future, who is partly physical, partly virtual and trying to find her quest.
I wrote and produced this album over the past three years, travelling in between L.A. and Berlin, meeting amazing people and making new friends along the way, most of which are represented in his work in one way or another. [Compare huge credit section].
Most of the production happened in 2019 though, when I was recording all the music and vocals in July 2019 in Berlin.”
