Eight Frozen Modules
The Lost And Found Psychosis of Eight Frozen Modules V.2
DU-DFSTN8
I wrap a cable neat around my wrist. A wire through my spine. Rest on the fire escape high above the kaleidoscopic apocalypse. Listen to the voices pulsing through the colors. Turn my head and open my eyes to a world of destitution and a future uncertain.
You cannot see me for my face is hidden, but I can hear you, the way your feet create static as your toes just barely meet the ground. The space between you and earth or whatever this pile of rubble is. Rumbling asphalt, the kind that sifts through your fingers and falls, the sound of a thousand pins scattered.
Your whispers shock. Convulse.
I want to see you, but my body twitches to these chaotic prisms.
I’ve gone blind anyway.
Your echoes hurt. They rattle glass, mostly shards now.
Do you remember when we could see the sun? I ask you, call out into the abyss. My own voice dances through the vacant alleys. Perhaps you are further than I thought.
Yes, you hiss.
