What is reality if not a hallucination upon which we all agree to be true?

According to Peirce, Phaneron (Greek φανερός phaneros “visible, showable”) represents the collective total of all that is in any way or in any sense present to the mind, quite regardless of whether it corresponds to any real thing or not.

“Phaneron” is the debut EP of Marco Simioni – mixing/mastering engineer, sound artist, and composer from Padua (Italy) based in London (UK) since 2016. He has a synesthetic approach to music that can be well described through David Gibson’s words in “The Art of Mixing”: each sound has a certain shape and occupies a certain space onto an imaginary 3D grid, where the x-axis is the stereo range between Left/Right, the y-axis refers to the frequency range of each sound, and the z-axis refers to the depth and “3D-ness” of sound.

This is the underlying concept on which “Phaneron EP” is based: let the chaos break free and paint these 5 tracks EP like they were a 3D audio rendering of an action painting picture.

The three videos are the visual interpretation made by masterful visual artist Esstro9’s point of view, another Phaneron. Two videos out of three were also presented and showed at the Digital Art Festival at the Museum Fur Gestaltung in Zurich, Switzerland in October 2020.
